SPICY ONION TOMATO CHUTNEY

Onion Tomato chutney is a nice side dish for idly/ dosa....    colour of the chutney depends on tomato and red chilly variety we used.. Usually i love to have it without tempering.. just GIVE A TRY... HAPPY COOKING.......

INGREDIENTS: 

SERVINGS ; 2 PERSON

FOR CHUTNEY:

  1. Onion - 1 large
  2. Tomato-1 medium sized
  3. Garlic cloves - 4
  4. Dry red chillis - 8 (small rounded)
  5. Coriander leaves - small amount
  6. Salt - as needed
  7. oil - 2 tspn

FOR TEMPERING:   ( IT IS PURELY OPTIONAL)

  1. Oil - 1 spn
  2. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tspn 
  3. Urad dal - 1/2 tspn
  4. Hing - 1/4 tspn
  5. Curry leaves - 1 spring

RECIPE: 

Take all the ingredients

Heat a kadai and add oil
first add dry chilly


Then add garlic pods
Add onions and salt , saute well till it changes to translucent color
Add tomato , saute well

Cook till it turns mushy
Finally add coriander leaves and off the flame

Leave it to cool for 5 mins
Blend it in a blender 
TEMPERING:
Heat a pan
Add oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters
Add urad dal and curry leraves
Add hing (asafoetida)
Off the flame and add this to chutney...

FINALLY SERVE IT WITH HOT IDLY / DOSA....
