PEANUT RICE / VERKADALAI SADHAM

  PEANUT RICE ........ This rice is very easy to do & perfect for lunch box. When i feel bore to cook i used to do this one coz it is very easy within 10mins we can complete this recipe. It do not needs more accompaniments , just a pappad goes well with it..

 SERVES : 1 OR 2

INGREDIENTS :

Cooked rice - 1 cup
 Salt - to taste
FOR POWDER :
Peanut - 2 tbl spn
Sesame seeds - 1/4 tsp
Dry chilli - 4 / (to taste) 
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Grated coconut - 1+1/2 tbl spn

FOR TEMPERING :
Sesame oil - 2 tbl spn
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 spring
Asafoetida- a pinch
Channa dal -1 tsp
Peanuts - 1 tsp

RECIPE :

 Take all the ingredients
Cook the rice & keep aside
Take a pan , dry roast all the ingredients under "for powder"
 Let it cool
Make a coarse powder 
Heat sesame oil in a pan 
Add mustard seeds , let it crackle
Now add urad dal
 Add asafoetida & curry leaves
 Now add channa dal & peanuts


 Fry until golden brown (do not burn)
Now add cooked rice 
 Add salt
Just give stir.
After a min ,add grounded powder
 Mix well
 Serve hot with pappads
